17th-Century Italian School Still Life With Fruit & VegetablesThis charming 17th century still life painting depicts an abundant basket of fruit and vegetables including a lemon, tomatoes, corn and oranges. The basket is positioned atop a ledge with a red silk tablecloth and appears to be outside with a glimpse of a landscape behind it. Stylistically, the painting is tricky to place as it fits alongside other 17th century still lifes from Italy and Flanders. The colouring feels more akin to some Flemish painters
