Clare had a skill for capturing natures bounty with such detail that it appeared good enough to eat. While many of his contemporaries were focusing on the landscape, he was foraging through the hedgerows searching for inspiration. Today, hes considered to be one of the finest British still life painters of his generation. His work evokes a gentle walk in
this particular lady has decorated her hair with a rose to her left and ribbons at the back
Some minor scratches
Rasmus Andersen Holm (1781-1874) has picked a beautiful spot with the large trees on the left casting their long shadows towards the foot of the image
The painting is signed/dated in the lower right and housed within a gilded frame that could be its original
