René Caty, Evening Interior With Female NudeThis early 20th century oil on canvas by Belgian artist Ren Caty depicts a curvaceous nude sitting before a roaring fire. She looks down, her head in profile, the outlines of her body lit by a warm glow. Caty was underrated and possessed a keen ability for rendering the human form. Nudes were a speciality and this particular lady appears in other works. Perhaps it's his wife, muse or both. Note the feet, which are delicately painted. Signed and held
