An early needle case in blue silk with a gold paper trim

Inside it is lined in cream silk and fitted with edge stitched flannel for loose needles

) amongst flowers and foliage with a decorative gilt band top and bottom

A pocket letter scale used to weigh a letter and so calculate the cost of posting it

They aren't silver plated rather made up of three thimble shapes with the steel one in the middle

A cord could be easily attached through the two holes if desired

This is under glass and in a gilt metal surround

The top unscrews from the bone base

The steel hook section is worn and pitted but the head itself is in good condition

Hammond so probably brought back to Britain after a trip to France
