The relatively refined middle weight flavors possess good verve though somewhat curiously

the Monvigliero moves into shades of more blue-toned fruit

don’t plan on drinking a bottle for at least another 5-8 years

Fermented in small used barrels and disgorged in February 2014

Restrained and distinctly cool aromas only reluctantly reveal deeply pitched nuances of spiced plum

with touches of leather

Still just a bit oaky

a little spicier than I recall with fine tension towards the finish

this wine is more intense on the palate compared to the bouquet

This is notably ripe with a completely different aromatic profile that is distinctly floral and sauvage along with plenty of earth nuances to the dark berry fruit liqueur suffused nose

Here the mildly toasty nose is marred by post malolactic fermentation aromas though there is good freshness to the attractively textured middle weight flavors that aren’t especially dense though I like the verve and salinity on the delicious and lingering finale

Sweet red berry and spice notes linger on the delicate finish
