Saxum, G2 VydTasted just after bottling and a final blend of 58% Mourvedre and 42% Grenache, the 2014 G2 Vineyard comes from a site just to the southeast of James Berry (this was formerly known as Gravity Hills Vineyard) that was planted in the late 1990s. The first release from Justin from this site, this beauty sports a deep ruby purple color as well as a gorgeous, layered bouquet of cured meats, spice, mulled dark fruits, graphite and loads of this chalky

plum and spicy oak

It seems as though it’s all on the nose at the moment

this is perfectly good but not distinguished in 2020

The 2007 Descendant is composed of 92% Shiraz and 8% Viognier sourced from a single vineyard

there is a minor sensation of green flavors

decadent dark fruit flavors show a liqueur-like density but don't come off as heavy thanks to slow-mounting minerality and a touch of spicy black pepper

exotic spices and candied lavender

A much more elegant nose displays cool and ultra-fresh aromas of both red and dark pinot fruit that is trimmed in much more subtle oak nuances

and dense blackberry and cassis fruit

perhaps displaying more definition to the dusky black fruit

Much deeper in colour than the 2004
